Create Service Cost Categories

Service cost categories are set up in WennSoft Service. These categories are used to track sales and cost amounts for these user-definable cost categories.

Examples of cost categories:

  • Equipment

  • Labor

  • Material

  • Misc. Material

  • Subcontractor

  • Travel

  • User Defined

Creating Service Cost Categories

To set up the service cost categories:

  1. From Settings, select Service Cost Categories.

  2. The Service Cost Categories dashboard displays the following information:

    • Cost Category Name: The name that was entered for the cost category.

    • Created On: The date and time the cost category was created.

  3. Select New.

  4. Enter the Cost Category Name.

  5. Select Save or Save & Close to save the new record.

Edit a Cost Category

To edit a cost category:

  1. From Settings, select Service Cost Categories.

  2. Select the cost category, or mark the checkbox on the dashboard and then select Edit, to open the record.

  3. Update the cost category name.

  4. Select Save or Save & Close to save the edited record.

Delete a Cost Category

A cost category cannot be deleted if there are any existing records for the selected category.

To edit a cost category:

  1. From Settings, select Service Cost Categories.

  2. Select the cost category to open the record or mark the checkbox on the dashboard.

  3. Select Delete.

  4. In the confirmation pop-up window, select Delete.
