Scanning a Trane Tracer Summit Network

To allow a Connect MiniAgent to retrieve data from the BCU, the Trane driver will need to be utilized. This requires the basic Scanning BAS Networks steps with the addition of finding which BCU is the BBMD (BACnet Broadcast Management Device and checking the box to scan for BCU sub-devices within the Scan Network window.

  1. In Connect, choose the Configuration Explorer icon.
  2. From the tree, choose Agents.
  3. Right-click on the agent name and choose Properties

  4. Choose Edit in Connection Settings. 

  5. Choose the BACnet IP Settings tab. 

  6. Enter the IP address of the BCU that has been assigned to be the BBMD (if applicable), otherwise leave it blank and choose OK

  7. Choose the Home icon, choose the Agent and then choose Restart

  8. Choose the Configuration Explorer icon and choose the agent.
  9. Choose Scan, choose Scan Network, mark Scan BCU sub-devices

  10. Choose OK.
  11. Choose Scan Network.
  12. If the result returned Trane BACnet devices within the BCU then the deployment was successful.
