Assign Permissions to Data Objects

For each portal data object, you can determine whether the members of a security group can view, create, and update information that is associated with that object.

You can assign permissions for the group as a whole (for example, all members of a group can view all properties for a data object) or you can assign permissions for individual properties of that object (for example, the Customer Number property of the Customer object).

1. In Signature Portal Security, in the tree view, select Security > Data.
2. Select the group to assign permissions for.
3. Select a data object. The properties that are associated with the object are displayed in the right pane.
4. For each object property, mark the appropriate checkboxes to set permissions.

You can also use the checkboxes next to the data object field to assign a permission level to all properties for the selected object. 

These rules apply:

• To mark a property or object with Update permissions, that property or object must also have Read permissions.
• The Create permission applies only at the object level, not to individual properties for an object.
