In Settings, select Mobile Settings.
-
Complete the following sections.

Inventory/Expense
Use the Inventory/Expense section to set the cost categories that FORGE Mobile automatically applies when technicians add inventory, non-inventory, service, or mileage costs. These defaults help classify service call costs consistently and reduce manual selection during mobile entry.
-
Default Inventory Cost Category: Select the read-only category applied when a technician adds an Inventory item in the mobile cost step. Choices are active non-labor categories that have an inventory posting group.
-
Default Non Inventory Cost Category: Select the read-only category applied when a technician adds a Non Inventory expense. Choices are active non-labor categories.
-
Default Service Cost Category: Select the read-only category applied when a technician adds a Service expense. Choices are active non-labor categories.
-
Default Mileage Cost Category: Select the category used for mileage service call cost rows. In Separate mileage entry mode, this and Default Mileage Inventory Item must both be active before a technician can save mileage.
Labor Settings
In the Labor Settings section, select the following:
-
Default Labor Rate Category: Select the active Labor Rate Category used for mobile labor. Selecting a category automatically supplies its Service Product.
-
Default Labor Product: Select the Service product used for labor posting when no Labor Rate Category is selected. When a category is selected, this field is read-only and displays Labor Product is set in Rate Category.
Important
Changing the Service Product on the selected Labor Rate Category also updates this setting when FORGE Mobile is enabled.
Purchase Order Settings
-
Use PO Non Inventory Items: Enable to allow non-inventory items to be added to a purchase order.
Time Settings
All four controls are enabled by default.
-
Use Labor Time Log: Keep this enabled to use labor timers and Start and End fields. Disable it so new labor entries use Date and Duration.
-
Use Travel Time Log: Keep this enabled to use travel timers and Start and End fields. Disable it so new travel entries use Date and Duration.
-
Time Log Lock Time In Time Out: Keep this enabled to prevent technicians from changing Time In and Time Out when editing mobile time logs. Disable it to allow those edits.
-
Time Log Lock Labor Hours: Keep this enabled to prevent technicians from changing total labor hours when editing mobile time logs. Disable it to allow Duration edits.
Travel Settings
In the Travel Settings section, select the following:
-
Default Travel Rate Category: Select the active Labor Rate Category used for mobile travel time.
-
Default Mileage Inventory Item: Select the active Service product used for mileage-related posting. In Separate mileage entry mode, this and Default Mileage Cost Category must both be active before a technician can save mileage.
-
Mileage Entry Mode (Required): Choose Included with travel entry to collect mileage when travel ends or a manual travel entry is saved. Choose Separate mileage entry to provide an Add Mileage action in a workflow step that includes Travel. Included with travel entry is the default.
Important
A running travel timer keeps the mileage mode it had when it started. A saved mode change applies to new travel activity after the device refreshes settings.
