Use the TimeTrack export feature to create a payroll export file for ADP PC/Payroll. Before the file is created or the batch is committed, TimeTrack validates the selected transactions and prepares an Export Report so you can review what will be exported.
Salary transactions are not included in the export.
Step 1: Enable the Export Feature
Enable the feature and select the file format used for the payroll export.
-
Select Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Setup > Time Track > Setup Options.
-
In the Third Party section, select Create a Text File for Export.
-
In the File Format list, select ADP.
-
Click Save.
Step 2: Set Up the Export File
Map TimeTrack fields to ADP fields and define the default file name and location. The export file must use the .CSV file extension.
-
Select Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Setup > Time Track > Export File Setup.
-
Enter the Company Code.
-
In the Default Pathname for Export File field, enter the location and file name for the export file.
Note: You can select the yellow folder button to browse to a location. When the Default Path for Export File window opens, enter the file name in the same window. If you want the file name to include .CSV, enter the extension manually. Click Open to return the Export File Setup window. -
The Export File Setup window fills in with the available fields. Each row represents a single field of data that can be exported. The most commonly used (and required) fields are already selected, as indicated by the checkboxes in the Include column. To view additional rows, use the scroll bar on the right side of the window.
-
Include: Determines whether the field is included in the export file. Required ADP fields are selected by default.
-
Column Name: Identifies the corresponding column in the Signature holding table used for the export.
-
Field Name: Identifies the ADP field. The following fields are required by the ADP Payroll (third-party) module. See the ADP PC/Payroll documentation for additional ADP requirements.
-
Co Code

Mapped Field: Maps each ADP field to a TimeTrack field.
-

-
-
When setup is complete, select OK.
-
To print the Export File Setup List for the selected company only, select the printer button. To print the Export File Setup List for all companies, select the Clear button to clear the window, then select the printer button.
Step 3: Create an Export File
Use the TimeTrack Export Wizard to validate transactions, review the Export Report, create the export file, and commit the selected batches.
-
Select Transactions > TimeTrack > Time Card Commit.
-
Select one or more batches.
-
If Manager Approval is used, confirm that the transactions are approved before exporting.
-
Select Edit List to review the selected transactions. Correct any errors shown on the Edit List before continuing.
-
Select Export from the ribbon.
-
In the Welcome to the TimeTrack Export Wizard window, select Next.
-
Enter the following:
-
Company Code: Use the lookup button to select a company code.
-
File Pathname: The file and location default from the Export File Setup window. You can change the file and location of the export file. To change the location, use the folder button in the File Pathname field to search for a location.
-
Period End Date: Enter the Period End Date for each technician record. If there are multiple daily hours logged for the week, all hours for a technician appear under one record with this end date.
-
-
Select Next. TimeTrack validates the selected transactions before building the export table.
-
If errors are found, review the message, run the Edit List, and correct the transactions. Transactions with errors are not included in the Export Report, export file, or commit process.
-
Choose a destination for the Export Report. Select Screen if you want to review the report before continuing.
-
Review the Export Report. The report includes the transactions that passed validation and are ready to be exported.
-
Close the report window to continue.
-
Select Next to create the export file.
-
Select Commit to commit the selected batches. If you select Cancel or Back instead of Commit, the export file information is removed and you must restart the TimeTrack Export Wizard to create a new file.
-
Review the TimeTrack Commit report.
-
On the Export Completed window, select Finish.
For SOP invoicing for Service Management users, if errors were found during the commit process, you must fix the errors and re-create the export file. See Correcting Commit Errors and Re-Creating the Export File for more information.
