Setting Up and Using Document Management

Document management provides the ability to physically store attachments in a user-defined location. Files are attached by choosing the paper clip icon. This method of attaching files is the same method that was introduced in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013.

For document attachments to be written to a physical file location, WRITE permission must be given to the folder(s) where the attachments will be copied to for all users who will be attaching files.

Attachments will also be stored in the database as they currently do.

The attached file can be saved with the record and viewed by choosing the attached image button. If the record does not have documents attached, the button shows a paperclip. When documents are attached, the button shows a paperclip attached to a piece of paper. You can attach numerous file formats including but not limited to: .BMP, .DOC, .JPG, .TIF,.TXT., .XLS, .WAV.

The ability to add attachments is currently available in the following windows:

  • Customer Rental Insurance Information
  • Equipment Manager
  • Rental Agreement Entry
  • Rental Agreement Line Entry
